I just got my copy of Daphne Dumaurier's Jamaica Inn. I've been on ebay looking around and am collecting vintage books that interest me... Are any of you all into collecting vintage books?

I'm not sure it's possible to spend forty years accumulating 10,000 books without picking up plenty of vintage books along the way. :D My oldest is a Heinrich Heine volume from, IIRC, 1824. I've got stacks and stacks from the late 1890s through the 1930s, including a number of first editions. Haven't got Jamaica Inn, though. I am a DuMaurier fan, and loved the movie, so I do plan on tracking a copy down one of these days.

I have a large collection of science fiction books. Many are first editions and some are signed by the authors. My collection is now so large it would be impossible to reread them, so I would ask the question. Is book collecting a symptom of as yet a undiagnosed madness.
