Ok I know I'm giving little here, maybe too little but here goes anyway.
A few years ago I read a book that I really liked but apparently not enough to remember the name or much detail. But I would like to read it again- that much I do know.

This is all i remember about it:

A girl takes off from work and goes to live in this house by the sea….her dads? I don’t know. It’s a fixer upper. There’s a facility outside to wash clothes. She gets fish and chips the one day... There is a cliff….? Someone jumped off it?
She meets an old man who lives in a rented house I think? He makes her tea… The house might have been left to her by her dead dad, her sister got jealous, she tried to sue her for it and eventually comes to visit?
The girl meets a guy…
I know its vague and random but if anyone has any idea the name and author...PLEASE tell me!!!
Urgh! *scrunches forehead in frustration*

Do you know about when it was written? Are you looking for a recent publication, or something that you read a few decades ago?)

I remembered something else- I think she hates her mother, who re-married a rich guy just for his money. The house she inherited was the dad's love nest with this other woman that he actually loved, I think they have a kid together. The MC finds all this out and tries to look for the other woman.

Urgh it sounds like that movie "Life As A House".

Also why is this posted in the YA section? A book where a woman inherits her father's house and then has to deal with being sued by her sister does not sound very YA'ish to me.

It reminded me of "Jacob Have I Loved" but I haven't read that in like 15 years so my memory might be spotty.
