*Kitty's MC is very very glad to be a dude at this time. But he will have to get one of those neat arm thingies.*

Sheer awesomeness!

I think I will do the same as I did with my dimwit congressman Redding Redwood and mix up the names of counties and cities of an US state. What does His Honour Justice Tammany Terrebonne tells to you?

Humans... eew! Can't you sleep in a barn or something?

I'm sure I can, but they don't advertise online. :D Particularly not with pics of the area for me to drool over.

I'll tell ya one thing, I could kill myself right now. I've been busy researching agents, formatting the text to fit in the email, and polishing the query that I missed one tiny thing.

I forgot to put in the query letter what genre it was.

I realized this after I sent out 13 queries. Doh!

I think it's pretty clear from the description its fantasy but serious... stupid... stupid

/me smacks forehead.

Think of it more as, you broke away from the mold of the outline.

Ouch, Straka. Forest vs. trees problem. At least you can fix it for the next batch of queries (if you need them).

Bored. Bored, bored, bored.

B-O-R-E-D.

Did I mention I'm bored?

I should be working on NaNo right now, but I'm having trouble working up any enthusiasm to write.

Maybe jumping up and down will help.

Yes I'll cover up by calling myself a rogue in this regard. Yeah agent, I don't need you. I'm call you in a few days or whatever. Genre? HA! You tell me.

Two years working on the damn WIP and I forget ONE word.

:flag:

I feel like King Arthur, running away after being heckled by Frenchmen. "Retreat! Runaway!"

Well I just ran smack into that one young sapling that gave me a bloody nose. So far 2 rejections and more to come I'm sure.

I will say that Tammany is very New York - Tammany Hall and all that. That's the first thing that popped in my head.

I grew up in OK, and my mom worked for Traveller's Aid. One of the men on the board of Directors was a judge, and it said his name was Conselius. Not a good name for a judge.

Don't worry Straka, I'm sure it'll be clear from context that it's fantasy :)

And to chime in with writing stuff: editing sucks. I'm editing a short to take a break from editing a novel. Still, this blows. But I want to get a new story circulating this week, as I got a rejection today (totally expected).

Checking in... 64k on the NaNo, a bit ahead of my personal goal overall. The plot's wandering a bit, but jumping to the good parts is mostly working.

And anyone who hasn't must check out the NaNoisms thread. My favorite part of the whole deal. :D

Oh. Right. I'm supposed to be subbing stuff this year. Right. Will work on it after the SS. ...And after NZ. So, um, next year. Bugger. ;)

Hi Annie. I must find that thread. Is it on AW? And hi, I'm in TX. For another few days.

Ugh, who needs Coffee Timez?

I had to get up insanely early tonight, yet I spent most of last night (what I'd planned to be a nice evening spent in a cafe having Nano writing timez with my friend) for two hours tromping around the neighborhood in the dark with a flashlight and a kitty toy, trying to find my friend's cat, who had gotten out of the house (he is a house kitty, and had no collar or microchip).

He came back this morning of his own volition, and all is well--but now I am dead tired :p

The coffee is just making me more anxious. I have to walk away from my PC so I stop checking my email for agent replies. Damn the human heart for its love of instant gratification.

Morning all. Straka - I missed your post... you know what? I doubt you're the first to do that and you won't be the last - but... I know it kinda sucks for you... think of the first subs like the first pancakes - they're just to season the grill!

Etola - who needs coffee timez? I needs coffee timez!

Anniecolleen - that is an impressive word count!

Hey, I wouldn't worry too hard. I mean, if you have a fantasy novel and you send it off to agents who work with fantasy, then they will very probably make the leap on their own, probably just from reading whatever brief summary you provided.

Good luck!

BettieLee-- here is some coffee for you!

Whyzat, KP? And what aspects are weirding you out? The crazy deadlines? The hand-to-mouth nature of the job for most mangaka?
