Hi, ES! Don't mind them. They're just playing Lord of the Flies. All this thread is lacking right now is a Lord of the Flies-themed LOLcat. I'm just saying.

How's it going? Good news: I have coffee times! More good news: my NaNo's MC was about to have a Crowning Moment of Awesome, but then I thwarted him and he has to be more downtrodden first. Oh, I love my poor emo fifth grader MC. *MC goes to sulk in a corner and write bad poetry*

Congratulations to all for making it to Friday. Pan-galactic Gargleblasters all around.

I was in my office just now, my officemate was on the phone, and another chick came in, rooted in my officemate's lunchbox, pulled out a slice of Mystery Deli Meat, and said, "You have half of it." I recoiled in horror and said, in typical totally unaware, far-too-voice manner, "I don't want any random meat!" Officemate was on the phone with a vendor, who apparently heard it, stopped talking, and said, "Um, excuse me?" I am not going to live this one down. It's not my fault, mystery deli slices were being thrust at me in an unappealing manner!

A work colleague used to work in a vet's practice. She told me once about the abbreviations used on notes for particularly "troublesome" animals. One cat had WYF (Watch Your Fingers). :)

More boring practices use colored stickers on the chart. I like WYF.

oh noes...

**wonders if any of her rope has survived, and to what ends it has been used**

You don't want to know.

Hey, there isn't a clause in NaNo somewhere that melodrama is grounds for getting shot by the City of Litrit-Chur Police, is there? 'Cause, um...

*sigh*

I am most definitely in a melodramatic mood. And I can't believe I forgot the law of drama that stipulates that if Person A is telling a secret to Person B, and does not want person C to find out, that not only will Person C find out, but will likely be within 5 feet of an opening to that room at the time of telling.

Just uploaded a new sci-fi avatar and I'm writing fantasy. Hmm.

Well, ok, it's fantasy with a whole swack of surrealism and dream sequences that make no sense whatsoever but I have it somewhere in my head that it is fantasy on some level, if a bit Alice in Wonderland, and thus qualifies as fantasy. Nothing else to report other than that. Well, I did get to the 4 000 word mark so here's hoping that I can keep plugging along with it. I want to say that I actually finished a novel of some length. Some length because I can't quite estimate how long this work will be.

Ben & Jerry's ginger snap ice cream =

And, just shy of 30K in NaNo, my MCs have dug their heels in right in the middle of the road between Awk and Ward. Sigh. Crazy kids.

Well you could always have them say, "Well our lives are in danger and the world may be about to end, let's get it on." Some writers have had less excuse.

Well I managed to edit half way through teh old WIP. with the two new scenes and my hero's new attitude ( he says meep a lot less lol) I think this might not suck too hard. I don't think it's ever going to be my fave though, I reserve that for Love is my Sin.

Cos what have I done? I've taken the hero from Love is my Sin and shown him from a different angle and.....I've bascially taken a character I love and shown him to be not quite the nice guy I showed him as before. Well he is, he hasn't changed but...

Funny how people look different from the outside.

It's 9am, there's an inch of hail on the ground and I'm rambling. I think I need tea.

But meep is such a good word ;)

And hail is not good. I've seen all sizes and almost went out in a rain storm that quickly turned to hail. I stayed home that night, obviously.
