Carus Publishing/Cricket magazine group pay royalties or do they just pay once and only once?

I'm replying because no one else has. I don't know for sure. I think they not only pay once, but they take ownership of your copyright.

Terrible terms, but what is a starving writer to do?

I do not think very many magazines pay royalties.
