Saw it FOR FREE since I refuse to pay for a Rob Zombie Halloween movie unless it is good. There were the usual choppy cuts that destroy the pace and the emotion of the scenes.
It was very violent. Lots of long scenes of women screaming and screaming and screaming and screaming and screaming before finally being stabbed. (Rob must have issues)
Rob's taste in music sucks at times. He used NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN for a stalking and killing scene. I ended up paying more attention to the music and the video of the old song playing in the background than the movie. Rob seems to have a fetish for inserting black and white clips into every movie.
Lots of bad teeth, long, unkept hair, nasty beards (yes folks, Mikey Myers looks like he should have a cup in his hand and be standing on a street corner) he has long hair, long sideburns, long beard. He looks JUST like Rob Zombie!
I walked into several screenings and the audiences were quiet, except for twice when I noticed them laughing at a point that wasn't supposed to be funny. They also openly mocked the movie when an extended scene turned out to be a dream sequence. It seems that people aren't following the MUST LOVE anything Halloween hype that was forced down their throats for the first remake and people are being more vocal. Halloween, I am told was NUMBER THREE at the box office and with good reason. I expect it to leave cinemas very quickly.
