Yeah I know I have not been around a lot as of late. Sorry.

Anyway I'll update about myself after this. I contacted Dark Discoveries about subbing to them and this is the response I got:

Hi Kerry,

Thanks for checking in first! Please hold off on sending your submission just a short bit as I am working with my web person on incorporating a submission section into my web server with a dedicated email, an automated receipt response, tracking system, etc. We're going to have it done hopefully by this next weekend and then will be officially re-opening for submissions with an increased pay rate, new guidelines, etc. It's taken a bit longer than I had hoped, but when it's ready it will make things much more efficient than before.

My goal is to also be paying professional pay rates for fiction by the end of this year. With continually rising costs for printing, shipping, and increased distribution orders to cover - I’m not quite there yet. So I'm going to launch a little subscription drive to help push us into that realm. I'm going to ask everybody - previous subscribers, readers who bought issues in the past, writers, and anybody else to consider picking up a subscription or sample copy or two of the magazine. I'm also going to have to raise the cover price finally starting January 2010, so I want to give people a chance to take advantage of the lower price now before it goes up.

Any help passing the word around, etc. is appreciated.

If you are interested in subbing to them in the near future, I figured this might be useful info.

As for me, I just started back at writing again after a year or so off. I wrote a new one and so far the reviews are good. Need work, but the basis and premise is sound. Also, I started what I hope is the final edit on my Novel, which I hope to be querying out come November.

I hope you are all good and publishing your stuff like mad.

Thanks Kerr. I'll take a looks see at the prompts and see if anything pops for me. My problem is never a lack of ideas, but time. Never seems I have enough for my everyday job, my wife and 15 year-old daughter and life itself, let alone finding time to sit down and write.

I've made it a conservative effort on my part to make time though. I finished a new short last week, am working on a new short and also editing a novel based MS. So things to work on isnt a problem...LOL

But I will try and get in here more often. I promise. Not that I got much a response on my first post in months

I wonder how Liam is doing? Anyone know?

Yeah, I had one rejected by him over 2 years ago, but back then he was prompt. We had a few emails back and forth on this, so I think he is trying to get things going again. It could be worth the shot.
