Anyone else watch this show? I just started watching the first season via hulu.com, although I understand season 3 just started airing. Basically he's a small-town solicitor who deals with quirky people in his town. There's also an ongoing mystery with the disappearance/death of his brother.

So far I am quite enjoying it. Stephen Fry's character is the kind of guy everyone they wishes they had for a brother or a grandfather. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

Stephen Fry is a genius. Most Yanks have no idea that he and Hugh Laurie formed one of the finest satirical comedy duos in British entertainment history some twenty years ago. Hell, most Yanks have no idea that Hugh Laurie is even a Brit, his American accent as Dr. House being so perfect.

I love Kindgom. Stephen Fry! Agree with two previous posters!

It is filmed not very far from where I live - must try to find out when they film again and go watch.

Oh, I knew Stephen Fry before this show. Actually not terribly fond of his work with Laurie, probably a little out of date and geography for me. :) Anyway I don't have TV and don't really pay attention to much but I was trying to find Monk the other day on Hulu and saw this show advertised. As I said, I quite like it. :)

There's going to be a crisis in British television when he dies. It is going to be apocalytpic, possibly as bad as when Attenborough (the nature one) pops it.

Fry and Laurie's stuff from back then is still great. The film Peter's Friends is worth watching, too. If only to see Kenneth Branagh being pissed and swearing a lot near the end.

So, last night I watched the episode (#5 on season one I think) where the guy with the race horse wants the gypsies (or Romani or whatever they like to be called) off of the field.

Do groups like this really exist in the UK? Like, in modern day? With big huge barrel wagons painted different colors and ponies and such?

FOR REALS?

Yes, only now they're called 'travellers' and they all have dogs on bits of string and apparently the right to park wherever they please and yet not pay taxes.

Romani people do NOT like to be confused with Pikeys (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56PZBdvimLo) (warning, if you haven't seen Snatch and want to just watch the first few seconds because it has ever line of dialogue by Brad Pitt in the movie). Romani are the ones who tell your fortune and have the lovely painted caravans. Pikeys are the ones who tarmac your drive.

Really, really badly. I used to work for a local builder, and we were always getting jobs re-doing shoddy pikey work.
