I'm using the Write Brothers programs, Dramatica Pro, Storyview, and Movie Magic Screenwriter, and I can't figure out how to make an accent mark.
Anyone know anything about this? I don't have any word programs on my computer, though I have AOL so maybe theres a certain combination of keystrokes for AOL Mail?

If your on a pc run the "charmap.exe" program which brings up alternate characters (pull down to courier font) and gives you the code, like [ALT] 1364.
On a mac, You can also type special characters and symbols by pressing combinations of keys on your keyboard. To see what keys to press, turn on the Keyboard Viewer in the Input Menu pane of International preferences, and then choose Show Keyboard Viewer from the input menu in the menu bar. Press the Shift, Option, or Option and Shift keys simultaneously to see the characters that are available. To type a character, press the modifier key (or keys) and the key on your keyboard that's in the same location as the character you want to type in the Keyboard Viewer.

On a Windows PC, the software is already installed.
Just Start >> Run ... And then type in 'charmap' and hit OK.
If you leave it up, you can just copy and paste whenever you need it.
Also, most programs now have Autocorrect and dictionaries - if you add the word (with accent) to the dictionary it will usually correct it - or change it when you do a spell check.

Just a thought -- continually pasting from the character map can be tedious and distracting, I usually wait till the script's done and then search/replace all the words that need accents. I also don't get paranoid about (e.g.) attaché case, séance, déjà vu, André and all those other words and names that are perfectly readable without the accents. Shrug, each to their own.
