Our poor frazzled Supermod, Stew21 (AKA Trish), keeps having nightmares. But since she doesn't write horror (so she says) it's up to us to profit from hers.

Trish's new nightmare contest info, including the nightmare itself, begins here at post 117. But we're doing things differently this time.

Once you have written your version of her dream (and you have until August 31st), send it to me via PM. I will compile all the stories and Trish will post them in SYW on or about September 1st. Author names will not be attached to the stories. Once they are posted, AW members can vote on their three favorites by PMing their choices to me. There will be a week for voting, after which I'll tabulate the results and announce the winners.

Prizes for this contest are courtesy of the person having the nightmares--Trishkaphobia herself.

I trust that's perfectly confusing?

If you have questions, ask away.

All forum announcement has been posted. Hopefully this will up the entries.

And we have to find out what VoteBot's availability is to kick the baby the first week of September.

Hmn, is there a word-limit?

Nope. But normal SYW posts seldom run much over 3000 words. It's just that when folks are reading a bunch of these things, they're less likely to read a 10K story along with the others, no matter how good it is.

I think when you're done writing is fine. Just as long as it's on or before August 31st.

:Wha:

What was that middle part?

Can I use 'Trishkaphobia' as my story title? :D

So can anyone vote? Or is it just the people who submitted stories?

I'm going to try to trick my own nightmare this time. i'll post for you guys to see it but it will be excluded from the voting pool (obviously).

Let's see if I learned anything from you awesome horror writers with the last nightmare challenge and can put it to work myself.

:)

Oooh! I can't wait to read it. I think Trisha is a closet horror writer.

You have the right kind of mind, Trish. :) I think you'll do just fine with it. Maybe this is a new era for you. The dangerously beautiful Trish... horror rules! (Mr. Collins, my hubby, said you were a beautiful woman last night when he saw your avi. :) I agree. You remind me of his step-mother, who is a lovely woman and very beautiful herself.)

Oh, sorry... um... got carried away?

Thanks Effie!

I'll give this horror thing a shot and see how it goes.

Hopefully I won't leave the exercise shame-faced. :) I have a lot to learn about horror writing.

Horror is different, I'll admit. Comparatively speaking, everything is intensified and there's very little in the way of "cheat writing". BUT, if you've been scared (and judging by your nightmares... I think it might be safe to say that you have) you're half way there. You'll do fine, Trish. :)

Yea Trish! I was thinking it would be sooo nice if you joined the fun, especially to read what you would do with your own nightmare, you know. I just love comparing mindsets. And if everyone is voting anonymously, why would you pulls yours? No one would know which one it is.

well, I wouldn't feel right participating while helping run the thing and since I'm supplying the prizes, it would be sorta silly to try to win something. ;)

Much better that I participate without participating. :)

(and I've started the story! First dive into horror for me. Should be interesting)

...aaaaaand we have our second entry.

No, it's not Trish's.

And she's right, guys. She can't win if she's helping to run the thing. Especially if she's donating the prizes. :D

But here's what I'll do. If her story is in the top three, I'll list it as such. We'll just go to forth place and bump that person up to a prize winner.

Me? I'm anxious to read Trish's story. Nothing better than a non-horror writer writing a horror story. I loved the ones from last month's contest by people who *cough* claimed to never have written horror, so we'll see what Trish has to present.

We're converting them one by one, people. One by one. :e2teeth:
