Check out 'The Gun Seller' by Hugh Laurie. I had been a passing fan of Laurie's from his Blackadder days, but wasn't really that familiar with his other work. I rediscovered him on the Tuesday night Fox show, 'HouseMD.' (also great, BTW.)
Then I found out he wrote 'The Gun Seller' back in the early '90s. Good Lord, it's one of the funniest things I've ever read. And it's a crackling spy thriller to top it all off. Really, really first-rate. Upon finishing my library volume, I immediately purchased two copies of the book... one to keep and one to lend. And I am a NOTORIOUS tightwad, so it must've been good!
