I saw this last week and would like to own it. The characters are quite well done and the quirky animation is such a cool draw for me. And the story--classic What child hasn't imagined the parents they wish they had.And I loved the added creepiness, just enough without going over the top.
I just looked up some technical info on it, and should have known it was adapted from a Neil Gaiman story. (I've only recently been introduced to him).

I really like the movie. It is great for what it is. But, to be honest, it left me wanting more. I got tired of it being inside the house for most of the movie. I love stop motion. And it was simply magical in 3D. It just made me want more of it. Loved the music too. Very fresh sound to it.

It was pleasantly trippy. Not flawless but good.
