They did look kinda uncomfortable
I think that recently, sex in general has become much more public, something that people discuss more, and therefore people want to gear more about it, and are more prone to read about love and romance and sex. Thus, more harlequin books are sold, the market becomes greater, and the genre more popular in general.

I've read all the Lords of the Underworld books. Gotta say, none of the pictures looked like what I pictured the characters as.
Agree on the people reading the excerpts. Hilarious.
Someday, I hope people read my books like that. I'd get a kick out of somebody like Bear Grylls reading a paragraph, Mike Rowe, the Deadliest Catch guys.
