One Page Outlines

Write an outline, then condense it, then condense it again until it is only one page. (I'm not being facetious).

I think of a synopsis as a one to two page summary of the entire MS; whereas, an outline is a one or two sentence summary of each chapter listed in numerical order, the length depending on the number of chapters. If you, as some do, write without numbered chapters or chapter titles, I don't know what to tell you.
