Synopsis?

So I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on writing a good synopsis for agents and editors. I'm not sure of the length and how muvh detail it should include, and also how different it is from an OUTLINE.

If there is already a thread on this topic, could someone please redirect me? I'm still sort of new here...

One of the biggest differences between an outline and a synopsis is VOICE. If you're writing an outline for yourself to keep the plot moving, you're probably not that concerned about the writing. Make sure your voice is intact in the synopsis, or it has the potential to read very dry.
