Has anyone been getting any interest in paranormal romance lately from agents? I'm wondering if they are shying away right now. I just started querying a new ms (paranormal romance) and haven't gotten the same quick response that I got on the last one I queried six months ago.

Jessica Faust's latest post at the BookEnds blog may shed some light on the lack of response from agents.

If editors have full lists and aren't actively acquiring new PNR's, then agents will be less likely to take on one (unless, of course, it's something so new and unique it blows them away and they know it will blow editors away, too).

Yes, I just read it...my heart is sinking...perhaps I should skip the agents and start sending submissions to the publishers...like Harlequin.
