Hello. I'm looking for someone to beta the first 9 chapters of my WIP -- about 34k. I feel like I'm coming to the end of Act 1 and I want to know if I'm going in the right direction, if what I have right now is setting everything up properly, if the plot is confusing, etc. I've been editing as I go, so while the first 9 chapters are in first draft form, it's not exactly 'rough draft', if you know what I mean.
I'm starting to find it difficult to move on with the story because I'm too worried about what I've already written. If I could get some second opinions, some insight, that would really help.
I don't mind if you want to do to a line-by-line or an overall -- but what I do need is someone who can offer suggestions when something's not working. Don't just say something doesn't work -- it really helps if you can offer alternatives.
The novel's YA urban fantasy about demon hunters, fey, shifters, crazy hippies, corrupt deal-makers, magic, curses and hormones. And there's a gay subplot, so you have to be okay with that.
