Best Comedy Horror Scripts?

I'm writing a horror with a comedic twist, but there's a fine line between a scary comedy, and a funny horror film. So I'm looking for scripts to read that straddle the line - like Ghostbusters, which are laugh out loud but at the same time definitely have tense moments that make kids hide under the blanket.

My script is definitely not a spoof or satire (at least, not intentionally...)

What do you recommend as your fave funny/scary movies?

The only comedy/horror movie that I know of would be "Scary Movie". It's not all that scary though. More like parodies of other horror films.

Shaun of the Dead is a hilarious zombie-themed movie.

Tremors is also a great creature-feature monster movie with some more humorous moments.

Black Sheep, Dead Alive, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness. I'm just looking at my dvd shelf and reading them off. I am working on a horror-comedy right now. Or as I like to call them, horromidies. They're a lot of fun to write.

Well, there is Young Frankenstein (which was brilliant) and the under-valued semi-slasher flick April Fool's Day. I would also recommend Sundown: The Vampire In Retreat with David Carradine and Bruce Campbell. Along those same lines you can hardly go wrong with Bubba-Ho-Tep.

The Old Bob Hope movies, Cat and the Canary and the Ghost Breakers were both funny and scary -- not to mention the whole series of Abbott and Costello "meets" movies, especially A & C meets Frankenstein which has some genuinely scary stuff -- and some great funny stuff.

Lon Chaney Jr. (as Lawrence Talbot aka the Wolfman) to Lou Costello:
