the age range of this is clearly subjective. I'm new here, but saw a lot of complaints about those of us not yet at middle-age but no longer a teen. Of course, this is for those of us who feel young at heart, you can still be over 35 (of course).

Hey JSS,

Welcome to Absolutewrite. We do have two threads on the YA thread for those of us "older" people who are writing YA...pop into the Old People Writing For Teens or YA for the Young at Heart...we'll be happy to have you.

Good luck!

No more segregation. :(

Okay....I'm gonna start a thread called PEOPLE writing for Teens.....how's that? I don't like segregation....we're all writers, and we're all on the same journey. Age shouldn't matter....I love some of our teen posters in the old people thread, and I'm brave enough to go posting in the TWFT thread some..

Let's unite people!!!

Does anyone else notice that there is still an age group missing here?

No one cares about the college ages. 18-22. Haha.

These threads are crazy.

Is it possible to smash all the people threads together into one massive one? By post date/time?

You'd get some pretty funky conversations going on there. hahaha

Kody - nineteen, maybe... but... 20-21 is still adrift... LOL

^ Technically I belong in that one.

But 18 - 19 still belongs in TWFT, it's poor people at the age of 20-21 (me, tear) that are left out of the current rankings =(

Ah well. And I don't think these are segregation persay, just people trying to find similar age group writers. *shrug*

This. I was just wondering where you hang out when you're too old for the Teens, but too young for the Old People and the 22-35 group. :tongue

Cheering you all on!
As far as I can tell, conversations tend to be similar in OPWFT and TWFT when I hop in there anyway.

YAftYaH and RM are pretty much the same sort of things and seem (at least through the titles) more inclusive.

How about we get a mod to make a People Writing for Teens sticky... and we can all still have our little groups but PWFT will be the big stickied all-loving People king... haha I don't know if that would work.
The YA forum must look really spazzy to anyone dropping by.

lol that's why there's a "young at heart" thread. presuming you're young at heart if you're 14 or 44. unless you're old at heart. in which case, you shouldn't be writing for teens.

but I agree with peachie.

Random Musings and YAftYaH really do serve this purpose, and RM is stickied.

Hmm....just gonna throw this out here, but I noticed this is the only post and there's no background info on this member. I'd sure hate to think someone was posting just to cause trouble....

But it could be a blessing in disguise because we need a unified thread! :)

Y@A says something about "adults" in the first post... Not that that should matter, and not that I don't consider myself an adult, LOL. I just got the impression that it was for more "YA scene" centered disussion... maybe?

Sage that's true about RM, but, I don't know. You guys are so old-school, so based in AW history, whenever I posted there I felt like I was intruding on something! lol, that could just be my neurosis kicking in. Actually I'm sure it was. hahaha

the problem is, ultra-ancient threads like RM with years-long BFFS intimidate the uninitiated (ha, like me, I don't think I've ever posted there)

ETA: um, jinx.
peachie, everyone's welcome in Y@H. we'll even get Enna to edit the intro post if necessary

But TWFT and OPWFT (and YAftYaH) will one day be old threads too. Any time a half-chatting thread gets up there in the number of posts and pages, it's going to be intimidating for newer posters. That's just the way it is.

Right now RM's a pretty even mix between newer people and old musers (most original musers (some of which were more recent than you'd think) moved on elsewhere). And everyone who enters the thread is welcomed (I know, I'm the one holding the sign), and if they're doing more than waving, they tend to get included in the convo right away. (Right now, 'cuz we're starving for conversation over there ;))
