Is it just me or does the trailer make the film out to be extremely creepy and culty-like?

I was seriously freaked out. I wouldn't take my kid to see it.

I think it looks wonderful, but Spike Jonze definitely likes to challenge the viewer.

I have mixed feelings about the trailer. It looks neat, but not at all in the spirit of the book (and not for kids!). The book has, what, 200 words of text and 30 illustrations? Plot is minimal and mood/emotion are everything. If the movie can't keep with the spirit of the book, what's the point of calling the movie Where The Wild Things Are? I feel like this movie isn't made for kids who like the book, or for grownup kids who like the book, but for some hypothetical audience of disaffected hipsters viewing charming remnants of their youth with detached ironic pleasure.

-Sarah, obviously a massive fan of the book

*raises hand*

I'm a member of this demographic. And Spike Jonez has sold me.

I want us all to enjoy the beautiful things of our youth without attaching scornful irony to our appreciation of them! Is that so crazy?

I'll be on the jungle gym with my juice box if anyone needs me.

I've never read the book (having been raised on a diet of Munsch), but I thought the trailer looked beautiful.

I was sooo excited when I saw the trailer. Picture me grabbing my son's shoulder and shaking him, whispering (as loudly as the cinema allows) and gesticulating, "Oh my God, that's Where the Wild Things Are!!!" I'd've been jumping up and down if I weren't in the theatre.

I'm a mad fan of the book. No idea if the film will be any good but I found the trailer exciting.

Saw the trailer today and am looking forward to the movie. The odd thing is some adults believed that Where the Wild Things Are (the book) was too scary for children.
