Looks like no one's posted comments for a couple of days. People have real lives, what can ya do?

I don't post there because my work is at a sellable level finally and don't need the share-your-work feedback with is absolutely fantastic when you're trying to learn the ropes and such, now I get betas for a full script read.

I don't respond much there because I am a rather harsh critiquer and a lot of people don't want harsh and I can't critique any other way, so I reserve my critiques for people who ask and have been forewarned that I don't parse my words. I tell it straight without cushion but everything I say is in an effort to help improve the work not just tear it down. Everyone has their preferences.

My activity level depends a lot on my work schedule. I enjoy reading the work though and believe that it only helps to read others with a critical eye.

are you kidding? I love harsh.

Nope, not kidding here, I've had several people here slam me and say I was only one opinion and didn't matter basically. But they were mainly first timers in that section of the board, so take it with a grain of salt. I just figured my time was better spent on my own work and on personal requests from people who know my critiquing style and are ok with it. It's still interaction on this board, it's just behind the scenes, and that behind the scenes interaction can be very valuable. It's one reason I love this board.

I'd also add that SYW is as much about give as take. The best way to get good crits is to give them.

I notice you're in Nashville, rh. Are you a member of the Tennessee Screenwriting Association? They met at Watkins Institute at MetroCenter from time to time.

Yeah this place is filled with newbies. The fact the the film business is kinda dead I'm sure doesn't help much either.
