Before I start, let me just say: I cannot stand the way MS Word 2007 is set up!!! Why couldn't they keep it the same as 2003!! Nobody had a problem with Word 2003!

Anyway, my new laptop that I got last month has that version of word installed on it.

One of the things that bothers me is that as a default, it always has my documents with 1.15 spacing and has an extra space after each "paragraph",

so every time I want to create a normal document, I have to go to Paragraph> Line Spacing > and then click "1.0" and then "Remove Space After Paragraph"

That is driving me crazy, because I just want to be able to go into word and type a normal document.

Is there anyway I can change this setting so that the spacing would automatically be 1.0 and that it would automatically remove the space after the paragraphs?

Oh and one more thing, is there any way to set the default font to "Times New Roman" instead of "Calibri"?

If anyone can help me with that, I would be so appreciative. :)

Read further: the articles tells you how to save your preferences as the default (i.e., normal.dot)

Thanks for the link Cao. Weird how Microsoft likes to hide their options behind interfaces, and yet have you create a normal.dot file just to change the default settings of one of their most popular programs (if not most popular). Seems almost linuxy having to create that file.

Edit- Oh, was wrong. Thought I had to save the file myself. Anyway there should still be just a simple default button.
