I had a novel published in November of 08. Long story short, I got my rights back in January of 09. I had thrown an ebook version up on amazon, and have had only one purchase.
I am looking for a new publisher with very low hopes that someone will want to take on a previously published novel. However, it never hurts to ask, right?
I found one publisher that I thought might be a good fit for my novel. I asked them if they considered reprints. They wrote me back and did not answer my question, but simply stated that since my book is available on amazon, it is considered "in print", even though it's in ebook form.
I won't argue that point - but I can pull that file down in two seconds. My question is...should I? What would you do if you were in a similar position? I've no idea whether I should just scrap the thing and focus my entire energies on getting an agent/publisher for my second novel.
