I had a request for a partial. I know normally agents do not want attachments with query letters, but I wasn't sure if the same rule applies for partial requests.

The agent simply asked for the partial via e-mail. Do you think an attachment will be okay?

Sample letter to agent:

REQUESTED MATERIAL

Dear Agent to whom I've built a shrine to and am forwarding first-born child:

Per your request on 1 April, I have attached a partial of the first xx pages of SQUIRREL LOVE. If this is a problem, please let me know how I should send my partial to you.

I have also enclosed my query letter and your request for this material.

Thank you for looking at my partial, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours,

Desperate and pathetic writer

If this is an email, it's posted as a reply to her request, making sure to change the subject line. If this is snail mail, a copy of the agent's request is included.

Best of luck,
