A mention of my poetry collection from NC Poet Laureate

You know when my poetry collection came out i tried to get the word out about it as much as possible and contacted the North Carolina Poet Laureate Kathryn Stripling to see if she would be interested in reading it and get her feedback. Well she read it and posted about it on her blog! i am pretty happy about that, she said:

"I found the poems in Snapshots of Life to be accessible, often witty, with a deft playfulness, and often poignant, with a lack of pretense in a day when so many poets try to show how clever they are."

Thanks all for checking it out and the support from this group. Really I feel i have learned so much from all of you - from reading your poems, your critiques and the feedback you all have given me on my own work. So thanks so much for all of that, it means a great deal to me. I think poetry is a wonderful thing but a tough sell in the market place so when you find a little pond to swim in and call home, it is wonderful.

Thanks to all of you who picked up a copy of the collection, means a lot to me.

Yup, I have casey's collection and I assure you that there is some almost painfully witty stuff in there. He always manages to come up with ideas that you wish you'd thought of.

Oh, and well done casey. Excellent comments about your collection there. Enjoy the good feeling.

Wow. What will be even more exciting is when this results in purchase of your book by readers who are strangers to you. Hopefully some of them will be moved to let you know how they like it - I think that would be the best feeling of all.

PS. Just went and read the actual blog piece. What a boost she gave you, and what a collection of very flattering reviews!

Di: I agree, you know i think most poetry sells to the pools you swim in so really cool to think random people might pick up a collection or two - i would love to hear feedback from people as they read it. I am pretty happy with the books success so far, it has been out for about 3 months and sales have been steady but more importantly to me, the feedback has been really positive and the reviews pretty consistent so i am very happy with the debut - thanks again folks for the support. really means a lot to me
