This is a daily output competition. By signing up here, you agree to produce X number of words per day, where X is some number at or above 500.

If you sign up for 750 words, you agreeing to do this every day for the next seven days.

If you violate this agreement, you must reply in here and tell the world of your shameful failure.

Every time you meet that days quote, you must post back here and say you've met it -- otherwise, how will we know? Sharing some of that day's work for community scrutiny is optional, but encouraged.

At the end of seven days, you can renew your contract, change it, or give up and slink away into the shadows.

I'll be the first to sign up, then - my contract is for 750 words. If you don't hear from me tomorrow, let the ridicule begin.

I've got my first 750, but by a hair.

Let's all cross our fingers for tomorrow.

I pledge 250 words every other day, unless I'm busy, in which case I pledge 200 for that day, and if I drink too much on a given day I get an automatic "bye" for that day. On Wednesdays I only have to write 150 words, and on Fridays I only have to write 100 words, but I get to tell everybody I know that my writing is moving along brilliantly. Once I reach the halfway mark in my WIP, my word count per every-other-day will halve to 125, because let's face it, being an aspiring writer is much more fun than being an actual writer, what with their deadlines and book tours and paychecks and hoards of hot book-groupies begging to sleep with them. Pah! As if I want to deal with any of that!

This, I do pledge.

I'll try 500/day, though I'm working on short stories right now and not a novel. And it's doubtful I'll make it a whole week. We'll see I guess--today's is about done.

I'm up for this! I've gotten off to an explosive start over the past two days; yesterday's total was 2000, today I've added another 6k. My aim is for a steady 1000 per day, so I'll sign up for that.

Put me down for 5oo with the knowledge going in that I write longhand and am averaging a full page (with minimum scribble outs) to be 175 words. This sounds awesome but I am NOT counting every word on the page.

So if I fail I get public humiliation. Do I at least get a cookie if I succeed?

Can I sign up for 1000?

Hopefully I'll write more than that, but I need a safety net :p.

Have you borrowed some of NaNoWriMo's guilt monkeys to keep people honest? If not, I have a whole pod of invisible guilt newts you can lease for the duration. I have guilt gators, too, but I've found that missing limbs don't help the writer's output much.

Editing and subbing and researching the next novel now, so I take a pass. Good luck to the participants!

I've hit my 1k goal for today. Yay!

But I'm still writing. Not stopping there!

After spending all night awake, I've continued writing and hit my 1k target for today also. But, naturally, I'm not gonna stop there. :)
