Poll: Where Do the Bulk of Your eBook Earnings Come From?

I'd like to start an unofficial poll. If you are an eBook author, which venues/formats tend to earn you the most royalties? I'm thinking about sites like Kindle or Sony or Scrbd.com, and formats like PalmReader, Mobipocket, Kindle, Adobe PDF, etc. Where do you think eBooks are headed as a format for romance? Will they become more popular, less popular, stay the same?

Just trying to get fix on the current state of the eBooks market.

The great majority of my sales are direct from my publishers, I don't know which formats. A significantm minority are from distributors like Fictionwaise and allromanceebooks, again I do not know which formats. I assume these vendors make the book available in the mosy popular formats. I buy my own ebooks as pdfs.

Thanks, veinglory. I'm just wondering which site is the most popular for buying eBooks. Based on the fact that your publisher doesn't break down the numbers formats (which I'm figuring is pretty normal), it may be difficult to pin this down.

Re: buying ebooks as PDF...I'm hearing that a lot from people I talk to. Vs. buying romance in formats meant for the SonyReader or Kindle or iPod.

All of my EC sales come from the EC website. My other pubs offer the works on their sites and at third party vendors. I don't know any numbers yet as I've just recently released works with them. I would expect, though, the bulk of my sales to come from the publisher's site. Royalties from third party vendors will be lower, of course, than those I earn from the publisher's site. It's a trade off for greater exposure, I guess.

As to your question about formats: I only have one publisher that breaks it down by format. From that one publisher, I can tell you that half of those sales are pdf.

As for where the sales come from, it's all over the board. One publisher distributes practically everywhere (lots of sales that way) and I have very little sales from their site. With other publishers, most of the sales are from the pub site, but as mlhernandez mentioned, the third party vendor sales give me great exposure (if lower royalties)

Hope that helps.
