Welcome, Jessica! There are lots of Texans around these parts.

I can relate to the serious vs. day job writing struggle. Sometimes I think (yet God forbid...) it would be easier if my day job had nothing to do with writing. The shift from intellectual writing to emotional - it's tough, but it's not impossible.
