I am writing a memoir essay with a publication in mind. I achieved this publication before by writing a serious memoir piece about Alzheimer's...it's a national newspaper. I would really like to crack the same market with a humourous essay. So...this is my goal. I'm going to give myself a while to reach it...maybe a month. I have a lot of projects on the go at the moment.

This is my goal for humour writing at the moment. I know it's a small one. Just one essay. But I don't like to overburden myself. Failing at one thing is so much easier than failing at 10. (-;

Do you have any goals at the moment for your humour writing?

(Again...you will have to overlook the spelling. I just cannot leave out that cumbersome U.)

Same Psychosis...different day.
My humor goals are to try and support other folks humor goals.

I'm not a humorist by the longest stretch of the cow, but I do love to observe the dance of the absurd as my contemporaries go about their daily farce.

My goal is to write lots of humor. I'm finishing a piece now...and plan to change a couple pieces I've written to be humorous, instead of whatever they are!

My goal is to lift my serious veil...although today was veiled in "What the...."

My humour goal is to make someone - anyone - laugh while reading my writing.

Actually, I've laughed at my own writing, so I guess I'm done?

That's what I shoot for when I write jokes. I feel much better about a line if I laugh at it, and I'm learning more and more what illicits that from me. Then again, some lines are passive to me and HILARIOUS to others, so at that point, the best thing to do is to shoot for technique.

I try and come up with something that makes me laugh primarily, then maybe expand on it with familiar references where appropriate to widen the audience a little.

My goal is to be able to write a new post every week and become proficient in that sense. I'm amazed at satire shows like the Daily Show that are able to write 20 minutes of topical material for 4 days straight!
