What's your favorite mob movie?

I'm a big fan of the genre, and I'd have to say that Goodfellas is my all-time favorite. Godfather II is my # 2.

Goodfellas was my first choice too.

Absolutely not-a-thing to do with my raging crush on Ray Liotta before he went all...well, you know.

It's not a movie, but a series. The Wire, the best crime drama ever, leaves all others in the dust.

Yes, that is a bold statement, but if you ever saw the series, then you know what i'm talking bout :D

Although not a traditional "mob movie", Road to Perdition.

Goodfellas, yep. And The Untouchables, also yep. I admit to a weakness for Mobsters, mostly due to the fella who plays Frank Costello, Costas Mandylor. Le swoon.

I'm really suprised this thread went for 6 posts before somone mentioned The Godfather. I know pretty much all the lines for the first 2 films, I can't remember how many times I've seen them.

For the true side of the mob Gomorra is essential. This is not a happy film. You will feel like shit afterwards but its a very important film.

Definitely Goodfellas. I don't know how many times I've seen it but it never gets old.

Then it's the Untouchables ("What are you prepared to do?" delivered in a Scottish accent by a character that's supposed to be Irish; classic). Then Casino, and then Once Upon a Time in America.

Noting that the list is apt to change depending on my mood:

1 GoodFellas
2 The Departed
3 Casino
4 My Wife Is A Gangster
5 The Godfather trilogy

ETA: I'm fickle - adding the Young And Dangerous films as well. :D

Goodfellas

The Untouchables - Kevin Costner is ultra-swoon-erific in it... (what the hell happened to him? **sob**)

I like the first two Godfather movies - and though I've seen both, I've yet to see them from beginning to end in one sitting. I always seem to miss part of them somehow..

I like mob movies because they use the word 'fuck' a lot and offend people.

Same here. I missed too much of the first one, really...I think I saw half of it, so I need to see the whole thing. That was before I'd gotten into mob movies, either..years ago. I've seen all of II and love that, but everytime it's on TV, I always find it after it's been on & miss part of it. Then again, they butcher movies on TV anyway...I should just buy them all.

Never seen III at all, though. I haven't heard much good about it, but I still want to see it. I wonder why it's not as popular as the other two?
