Curious if any of you have had experience with an agent/publisher requesting a full MS and then not responding back at all.

I had a request for a full MS to be sent after querying a very top agent, but have not heard back in some time. Is this something that you all have also experienced or is this uncommon?

I know I should email them to check on it, but it seems like such a bothersome thing to do.

Help!

How long is "some time?" It isn't uncommon for agents, especially top agents, to take months in responding. They have a lot on their plates.

If more than three months have passed, it's perfectly okay for you to email and ask for a status update.

What is "some time"?

Check their website, a lot of them say it'll take x amount of time to hear back on a full. Or search the bewares & background checks section of here, a lot of times people will mention it if an agent is a 'no response means no' type of person on a full.

But if it's been a really long while, sending an email to check isn't the worst idea.

ETA: Posted at the same time as ChaosTitan and said the same thing hehe :)
