I think true genius is a rare thing, particularly in the realm of movie-making. Who do you believe are/were the true geniuses of filmdom (Hollywood or otherwise)?

Depite his controversial film, Birth Of A Nation, I'd have to include D.W. Griffith. If it wasn't for him there might not be movies as we know them. He was ahead of his time in so many ways, though unfortunately backwards in one. Other geniuses include Fritz Lang, John Ford, and Buster Keaton!!!

Christopher Nolan is quickly rising the charts in this arena. His films are utterly fantastic.
