GCI, a local Alaskan telecom company, has produced over the years here a series of entertaining TV ads. (This is not an endorsement of their services, which, like every telecom company I've ever encountered, are variable, at best.) Right now they are running a classic, unfortunately not to be seen by eyes in the soft underbelly of the U.S. below the 50th parallel. It goes like this:

A native Alaskan dogsledder is mushing across the frozen tundra, middle of nowhere, nothing to be seen but snow. His cell phone rings. He halts the dogs, digs in his sled anchor, and answers. After a couple of seconds:

"Yes, I won't forget to bring home the milk."

He hangs up, and says to himself something like, "This is the problem with good cell phone coverage."

The scene cuts to him mushing the dogs back in the direction he came from.

Just about perfect.
