I was wondering if anyone could help me on this. I have made some feeble

attempts at critiques on the syw threads. And the few times I tried to

cross out a sentence and retype a suggestion in red the formatting looks

weird. From reading other threads I saw to select the sentence then hit

the button that has the ABC with a line through it. Then I type my

suggestion in red but when I post I get these brackets the color I use is

written and there are brackets by the sentence I crossed out. I have tried

to work it in word and copy and paste and of course it does not come

out. (sigh)

I did read that you need to use notepad, this was in a forum for

screenplays I believe and I am not sure if it is the same for all forums. So

the make a short question long. :D

What is the secret to draw a line through a sentence and write

the suggestion in red?

Thank You for any help on this.

Here I selected your sentence, then clicked the ABC button. To make it red, I selected the sentence I just typed, then chose the color red.

Thank You for any help on this.

I'm thinking that you might be accidentally deleting or changing the quote tags that surround the material you are quoting. You can always click Preview Post to make sure things look the way you intend. No need to use another app (at least imo).

Good luck. :)

Yeah, the stroked-through ABC button should do the biz. The selected text should be enclosed between [S] and [/S] tags which indicate strike-through. As with all tags you can type these manually if you prefer. For each formatting tag there should be a closing tag with the /slash.

Just saying, an alternative to stroke-through and red text (which my eyeballs hate, but that's a personal thing) is simply to quote short pertinent sections of the piece being critiqued by enclosing them in quote tags, e.g. [quote]selected text[/quote] and type your comments underneath each quote.

Hmmm. I could have sworn I did not remove them and the brackets and colored showed on the post. I could be wrong though and I will try this again. I did manually remove them another time and sure enough there was no strikethrough or color chnage. But thanks melainie and I will give it another go :)

Thanks Derek I may try to go at it manually as well

Thank You both for the response!
