The first by The Four Tops, the second by The Jackson Five. I've been listening to both, of late, and can't decide which one I prefer.

To be fair, you should have Youtube links so we can easily compare. I remember these songs, but it's harder to judge when it's been a few years since hearing them.

A fairly up-tempo '60's soul song.

So it's not really fair to compare a ballad type with a faster rockin' song. But they both bring back memories, the Four Tops of the '60's and being younger than 10 and listening to the radio, and the Jackson Five of a slightly later period, around 1970 when I "graduated" [social promotion, ahem] from the 7th grade, going into the 8th which was my first year of high school (they didn't have "middle school" in Atlanta back then, at least not the area where I was), thinking about girls, bla la bla...
Speaking of the Four Tops, I always liked Bernadette which I always thought of as a bit of a "rock" song, and I guess this guy does too:
