How to end a sentence

I do it with a dash. Like this: “Sir, I don’t think—”

Whenever I see ellipses, I imagine the speaker trailing off, rather than being interrupted.

An interruption usually is signified by a dash, in things I've seen. Ellipses indicate simply a failure to complete a sentence or statement, something left hanging, you know . . .
