Which would you prefer to read in a novel. I feel silly for getting so caught up over one word. This sentence appears near the start of the novel so I want it to be strong.

IYO Which would read best:

His anger was evident. OR His anger was unmistakable.

Thanks again for all your help. I am working my way through my final edit, so I am taking out my fine tooth comb.

His lips tightened and his ears turned red as he reached for the crow bar.

does this make his anger evident?

Are the sentences the ones you want to use or just example sentences?

I have such an issue with show vs tell. I do show his anger in the paragraph so I will scratch the sentence entirely. Thank you both.

If you include that sentence and also show his anger, a tendency to over-explain may be the real problem.
