I need help remembering an author and/or book title. I thought the writer’s name was Susan Chin, but I can’t find anything about an author by that name. Someone suggested this author to me at a Con and I can’t remember, for the life of me, anything but a very vague plot outline.
It’s set on another planet and the inhabitants remain peaceful because they believe that the gods will destroy them (or something like that). The protagonist ends up finding out that the so-called God is actually a space ship that the planet's inhabitants left in orbit quite some time ago, but doesn’t tell anyone because the protagonist believes that this sort of life “works.” I seem to remember some sort of association with angels as well, but I could also be crazy…does this ring a bell to anyone?
