Yeah. Me too. I tried the code for one, but it wouldn't show the tracker in my signature; just the code.

The one in my sig was from Writertopia.

You have to put the link it gives you into image tags, by clicking the "insert image" box in AW's signature edit box, then pasting in the code.

The instructions on the site are pretty clear, but if you post a question here I'll try and answer it. :)

I tried the insert image thingy with the code, but still just got code. Oh well. I'm not actually making enough progress to use a meter, but it is cute.

Thanks anyway.

Of the codes listed on the site, this is the one you need - http://picometer.writertopia.com/words=10000&target=20000

The first number (10000) is your current count, and the second (20000) is your total.

Set the numbers to the right point, copy it, and then click "insert image". Paste the code into the box and click OK. Hit preview and you SHOULD see the box below:

words=10000&target=20000

Note - when pasting into the "Insert Image" box, make sure that you delete the "http://" text that's already in there, or you'll confuse it (because you'll have 2 https) and your image won't appear.

Hope that helps! I find that having to update the word count every day encourages me to write more. :)

So do I!! Although yesterday was a planned day off writing, honest...

Is there any way to reduce the coding for the graphic? So it takes up less characters in the sig?? I know that's probably a dumb question...

Thanks for the tips and link. I was looking for a motivational piece to keep me going. Been a bit of a writers block situation for me. It was thrilling to see I am almost half way done on my second MS even though I thought I was less than stellar to the finish line.

Not that I'm aware of, but I don't know much about such things I'm afraid. :)
