There's got to be a faster way to send mail than Outlook and such.
I don't think Thunderbird is much faster.

Anybody know of a fast, free mailing program out there among all the jillion free mailers?

The phrase you are looking for is "mail merge" ... that's where you set up a recipient list, some data to fill in blanks, and a template letter.

http://buffy.eecs.berkeley.edu/ACG/tbird-mailmerge.html add-in for Thunderbird (Tbird will let you save as a template, which speeds up repetitive emails.

Check with your hosting service. The free PHP-based PHPList is often included. It's pretty bare bones. It handles the subscribe/unsubscribe stuff, but if you want stats to see how your email campaigns are working best, go with a web app like Mail Chimp or Vertical Response. These apps help make sure that you're compliant with the CAN-SPAM Act.

Why are people giving advice to someone who was banned and won't see it?

Why are people giving advice to someone who wants to create spam??????

There are legitimate reasons to do a mail merge e-mail, such as when you are about to end a contract and want to notify a bunch of agencies that you will be available and your resume is attached.

I don't know about free but constant contact is pretty cheap. I use it for an organization I belong to. They have a free trial so you can see whether or not it's worth it.
