Okay, so DC Comics has decided to go and kill Batman. And I don't mean Bruce Wayne isn't going to be Batman anymore, I mean Batman is stone dead. They have been talking about doing this for a few years now. But, I have to say that I wasn't sure they would actually do it. I mean, after all, he's Batman. He's not like Superman or one of the powered superheroes that they can find some kind of loophole for to bring him back. He is human. 100% Grade-A human being. Now, I know that this isn't over yet, and yes, I know that eventually they can, and probably will find a way to bring Bruce Wayne back. But until then, I need to voice my opinion on this.
Firstly, since Batman is one of DC's most popular characters, they aren't just going to get rid of him. So the question is, who is going to put on the cowl?
The obvious choice is Dick Grayson, the current Nightwing. I mean, he was Batman's protege since almost the beginning. He is the oldest and most experienced of the others, and what would make him the most interesting is that he doesn't want it. He already has a bunch of inner demons mounting within him, however adding that could put him over the edge and make him an even darker, grittier Batman.
Next up would be Jason Todd, recently back from the dead. He also doesn't seem interested in putting on the cowl. He would definitely bring more darkness to the character than we have seen in years because of one fact: he isn't afraid to kill. Imagine the fun that could be had when we have a truly evil Batman.
Tim Drake is the next choice. He is the current Robin, and he seems to be the most eager to put the cowl on. It is his inexperience that would make him an interesting character to put on the mask. However, he is much more lighthearted than Bruce is, so we would have to see him fall into the darkness.
Of course, it could be someone new. Someone we haven't seen before. However, as I believe that would piss off a lot of fans, I doubt DC will do that. Put your thoughts in on this. I welcome them.
