Hello, from Southern Illinois

I've been posting on the boards here a while now, and I thought that maybe I should take the time to introduce myself. So to begin...

My name is Misti Sandefur, I'm 30 years old, and I have been writing since I was 8 years old. I have published 2 books, 3 poems in anthologies, and 3 articles that have appeared on the Internet. My currently published books, poems, and articles were published under the name of Misti Jackson; on June 26, 2004 I married and changed my last name. Any of my future publications will be made under Misti Sandefur.

I'm married to a wonderful man who is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a part of the Dessert Storm. I also have 3 children (2 boys, ages 9 and 10, and 1 girl, age 12). In addition to my 2 children I have 2 stepchildren, a girl (age 16), and a boy (age 18). My stepdaughter is following in her Dad's footsteps, she has joined the ROTC in her hometown, and she has worked her way up to an officer position. She plans to continue her military career.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome to the boards. I visit as often as I can to read posts and help if I can. I am not only devoted to my writing but I also enjoy helping other writers when I can. I feel we should all help one another when we're able, and that is part of the reason I started and published On the Net Resource Guide for Writers. I am now working on the 2'nd edition of this book, and so far it has sold many copies, and I have heard from writers whom I've helped with this book. It makes me smile to know that I've achieved my goal of helping other writers with this book, and I'm hoping to make the 2'nd edition even better.

Just in case you don't read all the boards, I am also looking for articles for the 2'nd edition of this book. I regret that I can't afford to pay, but I do offer a variety of awards. I'm hoping those who submit do it because they too like to help other writers, and of course it helps them get exposure and credits as well. Maybe if this book ever really takes off I'd be able to pay next time for the articles.
