I just heard that actor who wrote and stared in Forgetting Sarah Marshal on NPR last week. He was talking about the vampiric opera in the movie. Apparently the actor had really written that musical and had hoped to shop it out to get him fame. So I suppose there may be an audience out there!
A musical parody of Dracula would be fun. Pretty much everything's been done before; the question is always, how?
Plus, a musical called Jesus Christ Superstar? Who knew?
Maybe not exactly "vampire" but certainly GOTH is Repo: the Genetic Opera. I think the two parts can go together well. A goth-y tone has always had a strong tip of the hat to opera in general - where else can you find inspiration like that?!?
