on directing

On Directing of my first four films, I was all about getting 85 plus minutes of edited footage that made not only film sense but also story sense. Then on my nest films ie films 5-8 I was all about getting the story in visuals. I succeeded at both. Now I want to narrate by using first the BG track, the audio then work on the visuals for it and still make sure it has as many visuals an of course can be shot on a no-budget.

Any advice and suggestions are welcome

I can't suggest anything to you, Ace because I'm unclear what you're asking!

All I can tell you is that it's going to take 3 months minimum for me to see my latest project edited and go through post-production, so, as before, the speed with which you do things is mind-boggling!!!

If you haven't read it, you might pick up a copy of Robert Rodriguez' book, Rebel Without a Crew -- he talks about the making of his first movie El Mariachi, which was exactly the kind of no budget movie you're talking about and apparently are making -- shot non-synch and with some pretty amazing visuals.

yes, I have read that book and followed most of what it said to get my first films made.

now it is time to move it a grade up.

so I devised it on paper, in a MS-Excel sheet there'll be three coloumns, B.G, the audio and then the visual. then in row I'll have scene 1,2,3...
I'll decide by looking at my outline what should be my B.G, the audio and my visual and then make sure my visuals are at least 75% of the total movie.

I figured that out yesterday.
