Is it customary to send a short "thanks" email to an e-pub upon acceptance of your work?

(Yes, got accepted

)

P.S. I know this has come up before, but I wondered if it was different depending on the fact that communication between an epub is all via email, and the fact they responded to me so quickly.

First, congratulations!

There's no rule for it or against it. It's what you feel like doing. I don't think I ever did, except maybe when I first started out. I usually have that base covered in my query or cover letter: "Thank you for your time and consideration of...."

Thanks. They accepted within a couple of days. Pretty fast around these parts as I reckon.

Speaking of stripper-grams, I wonder what constitutes 'pretty fast' for being subsequently rejected :roll:

A thank you never hurts especially if someone has accepted your work.

Congrats! How exciting!

I lean toward being as gracious when possible... and in publishing, that is an especially good idea if you're going to want something from them in the future (attention, quick replies to your questions, speedy royalty checks). And in general, it doesn't hurt a relationship to say thanks!
