I'm finding that how much writing I do correlates to how bored I am. Lately, we've had a re-org at work and things have been fairly frantic; since I'm still doing lots of distance on the rowing machine, weekday hours when I'm not either working or rowing are pretty limited. Weekends (aside from a two hour row one day and another hour either rowing or lifting weights the other) are for recovery. My brain doesn't seem to have the wherewithal to create new stuff; for me, boredom generates creativity. When I'm busier I get attacked by new material much less often, and more often I have to make myself write something.
Just curious. Is this true for others, or do you make more poems when you're busiest? Or is there no correlation for you?
