I am very wet behind the ears when it comes to the etiquette of agents...if someone has requested part of my MS what is an appropriate time to do a follow-up if any? Thanks in advance!

Everyone's response time varies. I would check the agent's submission guidelines. Usually, there is something in there about when you should expect to hear back.

How long did it take from the time you sent the query to receive the partial request?

Yes, check the guideline. If nothing is mentioned I would follow up in 4 weeks.

Thanks for your tips...It's not been that long however, I have been trapped in my house with my sick husband and kids for about 3 weeks now and in somewhere in my sickened state my impatience has started taking anxiety pills and it has started to wear at me. I am trying to keep my cool but I feel like I need to be more proactive...or figure out how to get the other people in my house to stop passing the sickness to each other...

Thanks so much for your responses.

Being in a sick house would make anyone crazy.

I'd wait for at least four weeks. Keep querying, that always helped me.
