Hello, all! I've been lurking for weeks, watching the slow parade of the maimed from a Publisher in America and thought I'd finally 'de-lurk' and join a forum where I don't have to worry about being banned or butting heads with the Last of the Happy Campers.

Here's to a long, mutually beneficial association.

Welcome!

Glad to have you here at the Water Cooler.

Pull up a chair, kick off your shoes and prepare to enjoy the company.

Oh, did we mention, new kid has to buy the donuts? I like regular glazed. ;)

Hiya, Ol' Fashioned Girl! Welcome to the Cooler.

And Tiger--for heaven's sake, come out of the newbie room and start getting to know some folks. :) What are you interested in? We have rooms for nearly everything!

Hi, MacAllister:

I'm interested in all kinds of things. Professionally, I create new projects, sell the concepts to folks, write copy and take photos--the film I use for my photos dates me.

Personally, I read a lot, play the guitar and paint....

So... See any good AW hangouts in my interests? *G*

Howdy and welcome to AW. As Mac pointed out to Tiger, there's a lot of ground to cover on this board, so dive right in. Did you publish with PA? If so, what genre?

Okay, Tiger, let's take care of bidness. Just start wanderin' around and bump into others--that's the way it's done here.

Triceratops

Okay... A Triceratops incouraging folk to "bump into others" --easy for you to say; you've got the horns...:)

Yes, Liam... I have published with PA, so recently that the reality check hasn't arrived yet - though I didn't expect much from them from the beginning and so far haven't been disappointed. Historical fiction.

And thanks, everyone, for the welcome. See you around the forum - especially in the Never Ending Thread. ;)

For both Tiger and OFG--

Ol' Girl, If you like historical fiction, you'll probably find a niche over in novel writing--but there are a ton of good folks in the genre and the non-fiction rooms, as well--I mod horror, and you're more than welcome to join us! (We're a nice bunch, and you don't strictly have to be a horror writer--none of us are. <g>

There's a room for writing-games and exercises, and the office-party room is a great place just to hang out and rub shoulders til you feel a little more comfortable.

We're glad you're here, both of you.

Historical fiction?

Cool - there's a historical fiction thread started in the Romance section, I think - I was looking at it yesterday.
What period of history?

Hi from another newbie!

The first one is set in Tudor England; the second one in 1871, still in England. The one I'm working on now is set in the US, post Civil War, in the Great Plains.

I'll definitely visit both the Romance section and the Horror section... these Historicals aren't your Mama's type of Romance. ;)

Thanks again, everyone, for the warm welcome.

Scotland! One of the two places I most want to visit before I die! And your birthday is one day after mine. Nice to meet you, too!

Historical fiction is a close second on my list of favorite genres. I'll be sure and check out your book. Thanks!
