Sex in YA

While going over an old WIP I'm beginning to think it might be good for a YA market. The only thing that might keep it out is the MC has casual sex once to fill a void (she realizes what she did was wrong afterwards). Is this something that might keep it out of the YA market?

There's quite a few topics on this. Sex is fine in YA, just as anywhere else. Whether she realizes it was wrong or not. Teens have sex in real life, after all, don't they?

Yes, of course, but I add the rider that it is easier to sell stuff and to sell it to a broader audience base if you don't have graphic sex in a novel. The choice is yours.
