Trees beside the Seine

Does anyone know what kind of trees are on the Quais alongside the Seine, in Paris? I've looked online but not found a definitive answer.

it's been a long time...

but aren't they lime and plane trees? or am I confused with London?

According to French Wikipedia, the trees along the banks of the Seine are plane trees, Lombardy poplars, the common aspen (note: "trembles" is often mistranslated as "trembling poplar" but the trees are different spp.; "trembling poplar" is "peuplier faux-trembles" in French), and various species of willow.

This sounds right to me, although I remember some sycamores here and there as well.

Email the French Consulate.

I've looked on Google Maps street view, but I can't see enough detail to ID the trees--some look a lot like North American Plane trees.

My memory is a bit hazy, but I think they're plane trees.

I agree with firedrake-plane trees are common along the river, horsechestnuts are common in the parks. plane trees (a hybrid cross from a sycamore and an oriental plane tree) are used extensively because they can resist the poor conditions of cities.

They're related! But I'm a tree nerd, so I can tell the difference.

There are a ton of sycamores and sycamore maples in Paris. The park in front of the Eiffel Tower is sycamore-tastic, for instance.
